Senate Vote on Iraq Resolution

The vote was 56-34 (60 needed to invoke cloture, 10 not voting).  All Democrats voted yes (Johnson not voting).  Seven Republicans voted yes:

Norm Coleman (MN)
Susan Collins (MA)
Chuck Hagel (NE)
Olympia Snowe (ME)
Gordon Smith (OR)
Arlen Specter (PA)
John Warner (VA)

Of those, only Snowe and Specter are *not* up for reelection in 2008.

Who were the 10 who didn't vote?  It's not on the Senate site yet.

So for the not-GOP and not-Republican, Sanders voted yes and Lieberman no?

Re: Senate Vote on Iraq Resolution (none / 0)

I was thtinking Holy Joe voted with us, but numerically I guess you must be right; he must have voted no because 56 votes minus 7 Republicans only leaves 49, and the only other vote we're missing from our caucus of 51 is Tim Johnson.  THOMAS doesn't have the vote up yet; presumably it will Monday.

Both AZ senators and both UT senators didn't vote.  That 90 senators did though, for a last minute vote called on a Saturday, is testament to the importance senators place on casting every roll call vote possible.  It's a big deal for them to miss one, because a poor voting record is a potent campaign issue for an opponent.
